Health Screening

WHS performs health screening to help inform and educate people. It has been fortunate that we have been able to recruit help from the local population to help us with the testing. Nurses and other volunteers have been very gracious about helping. To help patients register we have been able to have young people from the local areas assist in filling out forms and "crowd control". The local people have been so helpful, we couldn't do it without them! We test for the following items:

Taking blood pressure
BLOOD PRESSURE

In some cases this is the first time the patients have ever had their blood pressure taken.

Spirometry
SPIROMETRY (lung capacity testing)

This gives the patient a baseline of what
their lung capacity is.

Testing intraocular pressure
INTRAOCULAR PRESSURE

This tests the eye for elevated pressure that could determine glaucoma.

Testing blood sugar
BLOOD SUGAR

Again, this may be the first time the patients have ever had this test done.

Checking blood cholesterol
BLOOD CHOLESTEROL

Again, this may be the first time the patients have ever had this test done.
